I like this... the headboard that is.

The more I begin to think I have had enough of this samsara, I think again about those that aren't able to take time and ponder and become thankful...

Finding Peace...

This weekend was filled with plenty of reasons to be less enthused about the life I live before me. I went to my grandfather's funeral, my wife was upset by some of her family that she rarely sees, I felt a distance between my son and I that I was unsure about, and I couldn't write. Through the maze of frustration and grief I was able to stay at bay because of one reason: peace.

My wife is easily the most compassionate woman I have ever known. She is self-less, dedicated to making our son's life better than ours, hard-working, she has an amazing sense of humor and she is a plethora of many other worthy adjectives. What is most impressive about her is that though she is many different things for many different people she isn't as mindful of what she needs to take care of herself. She is so concerned with trying to make other's happy that she neglects her healthiness as well as happiness.

This weekend we both experienced some tough moments. I was not able to hold it together while at my grandfather's funeral and was overcome by emotion. She held my hand, wiped my tears and let me cry on her shoulder. She was my rock; she was my peace. In turn, she had to deal with yet another visit to her grandmother's that was ruined by the acts of family members that are so self-absorbed they drain the life from others purposefully. I was able to be her rock when she needed me; I was able to be her peace.

So many times I've heard of folks trying to find peace. You can't find peace; it will find you. We weren't looking for one another, but we found each other. We are each other's best-friend. We love unconditionally. We give endlessly. We are each other's peace without thought; we are automatically the voice of reason for one another. This bond is much more than the greatest love we've ever known. It is the peace that we so desperately needed.

Thought for the Day...

Sometimes the answer is staring you directly in your face; you just have to look in the mirror.

Venting...

Swagger is a dangerous characteristic
caught in the clouds
 of the natural mystic,
I'm looking at the calender
counting my days
and all the ways I can say
 that a moment existed.
The last days are here man
I can't get lifted
besides I ain't really like
John Legend first shit,
his second LP was a banger
there's no sunshine
when you leave the clothesline
 substitute for a hanger.
Wait,
Let it soak it deep,
the depths of the boom
drowns out any peep,
my presence in my room
is a sign that the peace
that I feel right now
turns a frown to a clown.
Give it more water
it ain't sprout yet,
you can drown in a tablespoon
now I'm a hater who
wishes all the bad
 on my enemies
my memories have turned more friends
into centipedes,
so now what's the remedy?

people never get the flowers while they can still smell 'em."

Thought for the Day...

When someone shows you their cards don't worry about the ace up their sleeve; the game is already over.

I can't get enough of the brilliance of Jay Electronica. Peep the sermon...

Thought for the Day...

If someone else has the ability to give a little of their time and effort to do something you can't, be thankful that they don't work as hard as you do. Someone has to what you aren't able to.

Thought for the Day...

Life knows not when it will cease. Live each day as if you were leaving a legacy; who knows, you may just do so.

Thought for the Day...

Sometimes the finite reality of things is all you ever really need; closure is overrated.

Babble(on)

Sometimes being honest with yourself,
is knowing that your wealth
extends far beyond your product
sitting on a dusty shelf.
Picking up your pride
readjusting for the high
that you feel when you make
the right move and you stride.
Now you're in a groove
and the mood feels right
you think you're ready for the light
party chicks and the life
pardon miss it ain't right,
I can't do what you want me to,
I'm moving at light speed
you ain't exposed to truth.
So negative,
take a drink and settle it
but you're too wild
I think you need another sedative,
this is too high school
I graduated get it straight,
I'm on to better things
my wife is of a different grade.
She's flawless,
your clarity is lemonade,
she's canary yellow,
you are Minute Maid.
Imma stop it
'cause it really ain't about you,
peace and blessings
hope you're learning how to scout troops.
My homies all fly dudes
and they're all ready,
 don't bring your cameras out
that stunting shit is really petty.
We're in the winner's circle
all ya'll are still creeping,
misinformed about your situation
